September 26 to September 30 - Week 5 Shasta College

 Hey Everyone,

This week we need to really dial in. I would love to review the bibliographies you created, but more importantly, I want to help you with your research paper topic and process for research.

Professor Maready will most likely have us in CH 6 this week and may have a quiz that covers CH 2-5. Additionally, there will be an upcoming research paper proposal assignment that you have to do.

Take Care,

Mr. T

September 15 - Back to School Night

Welcome Parents (and students...)

My name is Alex Thiemann and I serve as your student's world history facilitator. This is a Dual Enrolled course with Shasta College in which they have a Shasta College Professor. Here are the three major takeaways from the evening:

  1. Have you signed up for Remind?
    1. Code - rsawo
  2. Are you following this blog?
    1. Save this webpage to stay up to date on each week's events
  3. Do you have my email contact? And have you provided your best email contact?
    1. athiemann@rsarts.org
Being a small school, I am happy to individually support your student. Additionally, I will lean on you to encourage your student from home!

Thanks for your support,

Alex Thiemann

September 12 to September 16 - Shasta College Week 3

Hey Everyone,

I am excited to be back this week. I hope I will help you guys figure out how to do the class. The first couple week had a lot of easy points to gain. Things will get more serious this week. Hope you haven't put yourself in a hole.

September 5 to September 9 - Shasta College Week 2 (SUB PLAN)

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I am out again. Hope you had a better Labor Day weekend then I. Also, I hope I didn't give you "the rona". This week we will begin just having weekly blog posts. This is to be in alignment with your Shasta College pacing. Any changes made intra-week will be captured on the PowerPoint.

For today, I would ask that you work on both of the "for point" assignments on Canvas. These assignments are:

  • “Why Study History”
  • Read articles, watch videos, and then do this:
  • Provide a thoughtful comment on the reading (150 word min). Complete this on September 7.
  • Finally, reply to at least two other students with thoughtful comments with a minimum of 50 words by September 9.
  • Extra Credit Assignment – How to Use InQuizitive

  • These assignments should be very easy for you to engage with. I did the InQuizitive assignment last night and it was actually really cool!
